In these days of a wavering economy, thefts and car prowls are on the rise again. Just like they were in the 1990's. In the 90's, the solution was easy: you came to Mobile West, and we installed an alarm system. The thieves left your car alone, and broke into somebody else's car. People that have seen this happen still have a new alarm installed every time they replace their vehicle.

The problem is with the new car manufacturers. With the rise of factory keyless entry systems being "standard", you may think your car has a quality alarm system. It has 'clickers' to lock and unlock it. It may even have a 'blinking red light'. This has led many people to believe that their cars are protected, only to find out the hard way that their 'factory alarm' did nothing to deter a thief. The car may be parked where you left it, but your laptop, phone, ipod, change and sunglasses are gone… ALL cars need an alarm system! Period! Alarm systems fall into several different categories:

Factory Add-on: These systems are just what they imply, an add-on to your factory keyless entry. No additional 'clicker' on your keys, just upgrading your system to a full aftermarket security system. A very good idea, if you like the original remotes.

The Basic Car Alarm: These systems have new remote controls to operate the system and will trigger if someone opens any of the doors of your vehicle that turn on the dome light or cause an impact to the vehicle. All alarm systems have many custom options for you to consider, see below for details. One advantage of these systems is that they cannot be electronically copied like a factory remote can. They are also MUCH less expensive to replace when you do wash them or lose them. (IT HAPPENS) We see people all the time have problems with their original remotes after 5 or 6 years, and they are always appalled when they find out the cost of new ones from the dealership. If your alarm (purchased from us) needs a new remote, we try to always stock one. They are less expensive than what the dealership will charge just to "program" a new remote from them.

Two Way Car Alarm: These are basically the same as the Basic Car Alarm above, but with a remote that will tell you when your alarm is triggered. These systems have a range of a ¼ mile to a full mile for the paging feature. So if you’re within the range and something happens to your vehicle, you’ll know it even if you can't hear it. There are also interfaces to actually communicate with your iPhone, Blackberry, or Droid phone, and alert you anywhere in the world…

Remote Start Car Alarm: These are Basic Car Alarms but with the ability to start the engine for you. This will keep you comfortable in your car more matter what the temperature is outside. Some vehicles require additional parts to interface with the vehicle’s ignition system.

Optional Equipment: Keyless Entry: This allows your chosen system to lock and unlock your vehicles doors. Some vehicles require additional parts to interface with the vehicle’s door lock system. Battery Back up Siren: A extra siren form your system, that will make noise if your vehicles electrical system is tampered with.

Radar / Proximity Sensor: They are very popular on Jeeps and other Convertibles. If someone tries to get in your vehicle while it is open, this will trigger the alarm.

Glass Break Sensor: These are high frequency microphones that will hear your windows break. If a crafty thief breaks a window without triggering the impact sensor, then this will hear it and trigger the system. This is just a small sample of the options available stop by or call for information, TODAY!
